Introduction
NVIDIA® Tegra® processors (SoCs) may be referred to by multiple names in various contexts; internal engineering names such as T124, extended engineering names such as Tegra124, and marketing names such as Tegra TK1.
This documentation and most system software tends to use engineering names or extended engineering names. TRM-level documentation and marketing material use marketing names.
Extended Engineering Names
All Tegra processors have engineering names such as T20, T30, … These names are unique within NVIDIA. However, these names are not inherently unique in the context of upstream/mainline Open-Source Software. For that reason, much OSS and associated documentation refers to Tegra20 rather than T20 to avoid any potential naming conflict.
